Audio On Canvas Expo - Gotland Design Festival Update
Hi everyone! Dani-Alys here!
Finally using the devlog option to talk to the few people following this game, because this is an important update: this is very likely to be the final update for this game, unless something huge comes up. This update adds:
- a gauge that tells you how far into the song you are
- the ability to use X instead of the left mouse click to paint and stamp
- a "spontaneous mode" toggle. Earlier versions of the game didn't have randomized stamps and line thickness, and we found that the randomization, while making spontaneous art making prettier, rendered any attempt at precision significantly more cumbersome. This toggle means both are now possible.
I've also redone some of the input handling in the back end and it seems the game now works on some graphics tablet now? At least we tried one xppen table, so we can't say every tablet works.
And with that, I have pretty much added everything I wanted to add in ACE, and I am ready to move on to new things. Thank you to everyone who played the game, gave feedback, and gave encouragements. It was a pleasure to showcase this game at both GGC and the Gotland Design Festival.
I and the whole team at Team ACE thank you all, and hope to see you for our next respective steps!
P.S. The game has included a pause menu by pressing P for a few updates now, but since I never told anyone this might as well not have meant anything lol!
